Is Mineral Foundation Makeup for You?
Any woman who knows the value of well-applied makeup knows that a mineral foundation makeup is a good addition to her makeup collection. Mineral makeup is touted by beauty mags as the organic way to beauty. But what exactly can mineral foundation do that other foundation cannot?
Mineral foundation makeup differs from other foundations in that they’re made of ingredients that are said to be good for the skin – silk mica and micronized titanium dioxide, for example. Moreover, mineral foundation does not have perfume, talc, or irritating dyes that cause allergic reactions or trigger breakouts. Most importantly, mineral foundation is organic and oil-free. And because it’s oil-free, it doesn’t clog pores like other foundations do.
But what of coverage? Well, users of mineral makeup say mineral foundation provides great and long-lasting cover minus the goo and thickness. For this reason, it’s a great addition to the makeup stash of the break-out prone.
Note, though, that mineral foundation makeup has its drawbacks, too. For example, because it provides thorough coverage, it might unintentionally emphasize fine lines and wrinkles — if you choose the wrong hue and get the application wrong. So is mineral foundation makeup for you? You’ll never know unless you try it first!
